Prospects are every child whose profile has been verified — the body of the League. Most families are here, and that is where the work happens.
There is no selection. Any rated chess family can register. We check the USCF ID against published US Chess data, confirm it matches your child, and the profile is live.
Prospects are not ranked against each other and no one is turned away for being too low-rated today.
Your child's record exists in one place. Chess results, competitions in other fields, projects, what they are interested in — held together instead of scattered.
Verified partner organizations can see it, where you have allowed it. They define a subject and a level and build tracks for the children who fit. They do not choose children, and your child owes them nothing.
The Legionnaire tier is drawn from here. The list is finalized every December 31st against the published criteria.
GUCML is in its first year. Prospect status carries no prize and no funding today, and being in the record does not mean a partner will notice your child. We would rather say that plainly than let you assume otherwise.
