GUCML does not sell your personal information or your child's, and receives no consideration of any kind for disclosing it. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where a parent has signed Section 2 of the Parental Consent Form, a child's record becomes visible to verified partner organizations — companies, universities, research institutions and foundations — so that their programs and mentors can reach the child.
Partners see: name, age, city and state, chess record, results in other fields, portfolio materials, subjects of interest, and the parent as the point of contact.
Partners never see: your home address, your child's phone number or email, date of birth, health information, or financial information.
A partner defines the subject and the level of a track. Partners do not select children, and no partner contacts a child directly.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, you may direct a business that sells or shares personal information not to do so. GUCML does not sell data, and sharing happens only where you have opted in — but you may withdraw that consent at any time.
Write to nexus@gucml.com with the subject line "Opt-Out Request." Withdrawing stops all further disclosure, and every partner holding a copy is instructed to delete it.
Exercising this right will never result in degraded service, loss of access, or any effect on your child's selection, standing or prizes.

We do not collect, use or disclose personal information about a child without prior verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. Children do not hold accounts here. A child's record is created by a parent, from the parent's account, and carries the parent's signature.
We do not collect health information or family financial information. We never use a child's data for advertising or share it with marketing brokers.
The annual Legionnaires list is public. Where a parent has consented under Section 3 of the Parental Consent Form, it shows the child's name, age, city and state, rating and results. A family that has not given that consent is not named on it, and declining changes nothing about selection, standing or any prize.
Nothing else about a child is published. Individual profiles are not public and do not appear in search engines.
At any time you may review everything we hold about your child, correct anything inaccurate, delete the record entirely, withdraw any optional consent, or object to an individual partner. Write to nexus@gucml.com; we respond within 30 days. There is no charge, and neither you nor your child is treated differently for exercising any right.
Information is kept while your child takes part and for 20 years afterwards, then deleted. Identity documents used to verify parental status are deleted immediately after verification. Records of prizes awarded are kept as long as tax law requires.
